I would like to thank all of you who attended the Barristers' 60th Installation of Officers Ceremony. It was truly an unforgettable gathering.
In my keynote, I discussed the continuing challenge of African-American legal professionals, which is to combat economic inequality in the post-racial times.
"Notwithstanding the tremendous progress we have made in the area of civil rights, there are still disparities which have lingered in the profession of law. As we strive towards cultural diversity and community nationalism, our legs must not fatigue in the march towards equality.
This year, the Barristers' Association will unite its membership towards the collective goal of economic empowerment."
